The James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy profoundly mourns the tragic loss of an esteemed and admired friend, Isabel Brown Wilson.
A longtime member of the Roundtable, Mrs. Wilson frequently lent her gracious and inspiring presence at Baker Institute functions. Mrs. Wilson generously supported countless Baker Institute programs by directing Brown Foundation funds to the Baker Institute and along with her husband, Wallace S. Wilson, endowed the Wallace S. Wilson Fellow in Energy Studies.
"Isabel Brown Wilson was an exceptional woman, a dedicated philanthropist, and a highly respected and valued friend of the Baker Institute. Her generosity to Rice University and her leadership in the Houston community were extraordinary," said Ambassador Edward P. Djerejian, the institute"s founding director. "The Baker Institute extends its deep condolences to Wallace S. Wilson and the entire family."
Amy Jaffe, who holds the Wallace S. Wilson fellowship, said Mrs. Wilson was very engaged and interested in energy issues and her support for energy policy issues played a key role in the Energy Forum's development and success.
