Moore, Kimbro named fellows of national Research Leaders program

Baker Institute experts Quianta Moore and Rachel Kimbro have been awarded a fellowship to work with the Houston Area Urban League to study resilience and health in the city’s African-American communities.

Their fellowship is part of the three-year Interdisciplinary Research Leaders program, led by the University of Minnesota with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. 

Moore is the Baker Institute Fellow in Child Health and Kimbro is a professor of sociology at Rice, Baker Institute Faculty Scholar, and founding director of the Urban Health Program at the Kinder Institute for Urban Research.
