Edward J. Egan, director of the McNair Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, appeared on Houston Matters to discuss strategies for increasing innovation in Houston, particularly in attracting and supporting high-tech startups.
“Economic growth in the U.S. right now is primarily driven by high-growth, high-tech startup firms, and this is something we have been a little bit slow at getting to,” Egan said. “There are great initiatives underway and I believe we are about to turn a corner, but we have some work to do in this space.”
