Making Houston a Hub for Innovation

Edward J. Egan, director of the McNair Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, appeared on Houston Matters to discuss strategies for increasing innovation in Houston, particularly in attracting and supporting high-tech startups.

“Economic growth in the U.S. right now is primarily driven by high-growth, high-tech startup firms, and this is something we have been a little bit slow at getting to,” Egan said. “There are great initiatives underway and I believe we are about to turn a corner, but we have some work to do in this space.”

The broadcast aired live from the Greater Houston Partnership's new Partnership Tower. Listen to the full interview below.
