James A. Baker, III, offers a serious and substantive critique of the early days of President Donald Trump in an hour-long interview with Politico published Feb. 6.
"There’s nothing wrong with a president implementing a controversial policy to fulfill a campaign obligation, in fact there's something good about that in terms of letting people know this is a president that's going to keep his promises," said Secretary Baker. "But the way you do it is so very important when you get up there in Washington ... Process is really important in the White House. How you roll out a policy is oftentimes every bit as important as what the policy itself is."
