Tara Blagg is a research associate for the Baker Institute Center for Health and Biosciences, where she works to carry out research in child and community health policy. Her current project focuses on assessing the health needs of HISD students in order to expand access to health and social services. Prior to joining the Baker Institute, Blagg worked as a data analyst at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, where she conducted state fiscal policy research in the areas of health care and higher education. She has previously served as a research assistant and project manager on Houston’s first comprehensive homeless youth census and survey. She also has worked with the Harris County Department of Education, where she conducted evaluations of student enrichment programs. Blagg holds a master’s degree in political social work from the University of Houston.
