Jose La Rosa Reyes is a Latin America energy research analyst at the Center for Energy Studies. He graduated in May 2019 from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin, where he completed a masters of global policy studies with a specialization in international energy, the environment and technology. He also received an M.Sc. in finance from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administracion and a B.Sc. in economics from the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello, both in Caracas, Venezuela. Between 2010 and 2017, he worked for the Venezuelan Hydrocarbons Association, where he prepared economic studies and policy recommendations in support of the business climate for the hydrocarbons industry. His studies have focused on the political economy of oil, the role of energy security on international relations, and technological advances in renewable energy sources.
