Pamela Lizette Cruz

Research Analyst


Pamela Lizette Cruz is the research analyst for the Baker Institute Center for the United States and Mexico. She works with the director and affiliated scholars to carry out research on Mexico’s policy issues and U.S.-Mexico relations. Her current project focuses on practical solutions for the immigration challenge.

Prior to joining the Center for the United States and Mexico, Cruz was a research assistant on an international project analyzing the transformations of cross-border governance in North America and Europe. She has held internships with the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Temple, Texas. She also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali, West Africa, where she worked as a water sanitation extension agent. Cruz holds a master’s degree in political science from The University of Texas at El Paso.
