Mansoor Dailami, Ph.D., is manager of the Emerging Global Trends Team of the Development Prospects Group at The World Bank Group. He is responsible for the monitoring and analysis of emerging global economic and financial trends that affect emerging economies" growth and investment prospects. Dailami also manages the research and development of The World Bank"s flagship project "Global Development Horizons," which explores how the fast rise of emerging economies is transforming global investment and financial landscapes. A well-known expert on infrastructure finance, macroeconomic policy reform in emerging economies, and emerging market finance, he has advised governments and published extensively. Since joining The World Bank in 1986, Dailami has led major country lending operations and technical assistance for capacity building and policy reform in many bank client countries.

Prior to joining the bank, Dailami worked at the United Nations Secretariat in New York, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and New York University. He has been an invited speaker at major international conferences organized by World Affairs Council, J.P. Morgan, HSBC, the Financial Times, Chevron Corp., Carnegie Mellon University, the Canadian International Development Agency, Bank for International Settlements and Credit Institute. He has been quoted in and interviewed by major international media outlets, including the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The Observer, The Globe and Mail, The Economic Times of India, China Finance, Bloomberg, Al Jazeera, Al Ittihad, BBC, CNBC, NPR, CBC and Xinhua. Dailami holds a doctorate in economics from Harvard University, and a master"s degree and bachelor"s degree (first-class honors) in economics from the London School of Economics.
