His Excellency Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah addresses Qatar''s role in the gas and petroleum industry. Al-Attiyah serves as the Minister of Energy and Industry for the State of Qatar and as its representative in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). He also holds the position of Chairman of Qatar Petroleum. Qatar contains the third largest natural gas reserves and the largest non-associated gas field in the world. Qatar is also emerging as a major exporter of liquefied natural gas. An OPEC member, Qatar currently exports over 745,000 barrels of oil per day.
