Baker Institute Student Forum hosts a screening of the "The Power of the Sun." The film is a one-hour documentary on solar energy produced by Nobel Laureates Walter Kohn and Alan Heeger, narrated and hosted by Monty Python's John Cleese. Designed for policymakers as well as the general public, this film is a scientific morality tale - how, starting from the most pure and basic science, there emerges a technology that promises to help with one of the great challenges of our time: energy. Rice University's Professor Richard Gomer, a friend of Kohn with an interest in sustainable energy, will introduce the film and answer students' inquiries from a scientific perspective.
