Organized by Malcolm Gillis, Rice University Professor and Ervin K. Zingler Professor of Economics, and Yoosoon Chang, associate professor of economics, the conference speakers discuss 50 years of North and South Korean economics, demographics and military history. Presenters include key government officials as well as academic specialists in Korean affairs. Challenges for unification of North and South Korea include huge economic costs and resolution of the differing evolution of values between two countries.
