Not since 1986 has the U.S. Navy written a comprehensive strategy for seapower, and never before have the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard partnered to create a Cooperative Maritime Strategy. The new strategy, "A Cooperative Strategy for 21st Century Seapower," offers a novel, broader, more globally-focused approach that is more relevant today, elevating the maritime power of the Navy, Marines and Coast Guard to a more effective and viable means of executing national power. This event will be a presentation and discussion on the strategy itself, its origins and its implications, led by members from the three sea services. The keynote speaker will be Navy Vice Admiral John Morgan Jr., the deputy chief of Naval operations for information, plans and strategy.
