Biography:

Rachael Petersen, a junior from Temple, Texas, majoring in anthropology and environmental policy, is interested in research on environmental policy. Rachael assisted in research by Chris Meyer and Stephan Schwartzman of the Amazon Project at the Environmental Defense Fund in Washington, D.C., in summer 2010. Rachael presented the results of her research, “Developing Effective Engagement of Indigenous Stakeholders in Forest Carbon Initiatives,” at the Baker Institute in August 2010. She was recommended for participation in the program by anthropology professor Dominic Boyer and is from McMurtry College. She assists Boyer and anthropology professor Cymene Howe in their research on the culture of wind energy use in Latin America.
