Emery Gullickson

Biography:

Emery Gullickson, an English and sociology major from Houston, Texas, graduated from Rice University in 2008. She conducted survey research on the views of D.C. area clergy on needle exchange programs with the Interfaith Dug Policy Initiative in Washington, D.C., in summer 2007. She presented the results of her research, “Overdose Prevention Policy: Logistical and Ideological Barriers to Implementation,” at the Baker Institute in September 2007. Emery was recommended by Bridget Gorman of the Department of Sociology at Rice University. After graduation, Emery taught high school English and ESL at Lee High School in Houston through the Teach for America program, and in 2010 moved to Washington, D.C., where she works as a paralegal at Tycko & Zavareei.
