Biography:

Daniel LaSalle, a senior from Monroe, N.Y., majoring in cognitive science, is interested in research on conflict resolution. Daniel assisted Jennifer Bellamy, legislative counsel of the American Civil Liberties Union, on research on civil rights issues in summer 2010 in Washington, D.C. He presented the results of his research, “A Bottom-heavy Weed-out Feedback Loop: A New Model for Juvenile Rehabilitation,” at the Baker Institute for Public Policy in August 2010. He was recommended for participation in the program by policy studies professor Donald Ostdiek and is from Jones College. He has assisted in research on conflict resolution with the Institute for Sustainable Peace in Houston, and research on Harris County’s prison system with Ostdiek since 2009. In 2010, Daniel started assisting David Worth of the School of Humanities in research on conflict in Kashmir, Israel and Egypt.
