David Brown
David Brown, a history major from Atlanta, Ga., graduated from Rice University in 2007. He assisted in research on immigrant resettlement policies at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Migration and Refugees in Washington, D.C. ,in summer 2005. He presented the results of his research, “Resettlement in the United States: How do the Economic, Political and Social Conditions of Local Areas Affect Refugees’ Success?,” at the Baker Institute in August 2005. David was recommended for participation in the program by John Ambler of the Department of Political Science at Rice University. From 2007 to 2009, David taught world history at YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, and in 2009 was a teacher in Nairobi, Kenya, for Global Volunteer Network. In fall 2010, he began master’s degree studies at the School of Advanced International Studies at The Johns Hopkins University. |
