Biography:

Andrew Wang, a junior from Tampa, Fla., majoring in history and political science, is interested in foreign and security policy. In summer 2010, Andy assisted Richard Weitz, director of the Center for Political-Military Analysis at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C., with research on the U.S.-China South China Sea conflict, Asian and European security relations, and the influence of new aerial weapons and surveillance systems on conflict in Central Asia. He presented the results of his research, “Brothers in Arms: Integrating China into America’s War on Terror,” at the Baker Institute in August 2010. Andrew was recommended for participation in the program by Congresswoman Kathy Castor, D-Fla., and is from McMurtry College. In summer 2010, he also assisted Steven Lewis of the Baker Institute in research on energy security and maritime security in the East China and South China Seas.
