Rice University’s Baker Institute holds a wide range of events throughout the year. The Baker Institute offers conferences, position papers, and research on issues ranging from the conflicts in the Middle East to energy, tax, and health care policy. Many events are open to the public, while others are by invitation only. Sometimes, the news media are invited to otherwise closed events. The Baker Institute is equipped with its own production studio, including a satellite link and an ISDN line, to accommodate interview requests from the national and international broadcast news media. Reporters and producers who want to request an interview with Baker Institute Director Edward Djerejian or any of the Baker Institute fellows should contact Franz Brotzen, our representative in Rice University's Office of News and Media Relations. Please note that media requests for Baker Institute Honorary Chair James A. Baker, III, should be directed to his law office, Baker & Botts LLP, at 713-229-1306.
