Biography:

Over the years as host of the Drug Truth Network (DTN), Dean Becker has consulted with a litany of experts in the field of drug law, including U.N. drug czar Antonio Maria Costa, Donald Tashkin, M.D., of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and hundreds of other scientists, doctors and law enforcement officials.

Each year, Becker attends and reports from numerous drug policy conferences around the United States for DTN. Based at KPFT, Houston’s Pacifica radio station, the network produces nine radio programs each week: a daily three-minute report (the “4:20 Drug War NEWS”) and two weekly half-hour programs (“Cultural Baggage” and “Century of Lies”). With more than 70 broadcast affiliates in the United States and Canada, DTN’s goal is to share an “unvarnished” truth with enough Americans to bring the current policy of drug prohibition to an end.

Becker is a former security policeman and is now a speaker for his “band of brothers” through Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (www.leap.cc).

“Over the last few years, I have watched you progress from rather hesitant beginnings to becoming one of the more forceful voices around our country speaking for needed change to our nation’s failed drug policy.”

— Superior Court Judge James P. Gray, author of "Why Our Drug Laws Have Failed And What We Can Do About It — A Judicial Indictment of the War on Drugs"

“Dean has successfully managed to pull together prominent public figures and the leading voices from throughout the drug policy reform movement to build an incredible archive of interviews and news that will be an asset to the movement for years to come.”

— Ethan Nadelmann, Ph.D., executive director of the Drug Policy Alliance
