Joan Recht

Joan Bergstrom Recht is the program coordinator of the Baker Institute Health Economics Program. She started her career with computer programming positions at IBM, Foley’s and Eagleton Engineering. Since coming to Rice University in 2000, she has worked in the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies as program coordinator of the Advanced Placement Summer Institute, in development for the Brown School of Engineering and the Wiess School of Natural Sciences, and as an administrative coordinator in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. She joined the Baker Institute in 2009. Recht received her Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin, with minors in computer science and psychology.
