- Event Description

The use of embryonic stem cells in research has become a highly complicated and politically charged issue. This conference will discuss the complexities of the research policy in Texas and examine future policy alternatives by looking at initiatives outside the state. The goal is to introduce a new and more effective dialogue regarding safeguards against reproductive cloning and other unethical practices while advancing research in the state. This conference is the third major stem cell conference in the Baker Institute's Science and Technology Policy Program's Series, Stem Cells: Saving Lives or Crossing Lines.
