Event Description

When Henry M. Paulson, Jr., was appointed in 2006 as the nation’s secretary of the treasury, he had no idea that he would find himself grappling with the world’s most cataclysmic financial crisis since the Great Depression. “On the Brink” is Paulson’s retelling of the decisions made to prevent financial collapse. He recounts how he addressed urgent market conditions, weighed critical decisions, and debated policy and economic considerations with key figures in the financial crisis, including Wall Street CEOs, Ben Bernanke, Timothy Geithner, Sheila Bair, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain, and then-president George W. Bush.
