Read the Rice News story about the "Experience America" tour's Houston visit with former Secretary of State James A. Baker, III.

Join Rice's international community and Baker Institute fellows in a unique dialogue with the institute's honorary chair, former Secretary of State James A. Baker, III, and the institute's founding director, the Honorable Edward P. Djerejian, as part of "Experience America" — a U.S.government-sponsored initiative to help foreign diplomats connect with the American populace. More than 55 countries will be represented on this trip, with approximately 100 chiefs of diplomatic missions and their spouses in attendance.

“Experience America” trips are designed to highlight communities around the United States. The trips offer foreign chiefs of diplomatic missions the opportunity to connect with a broad spectrum of private-sector organizations, not-for-profit organizations, academics and state and local government officials. The trips are organized to provide concrete examples of flourishing businesses, innovative technology, experimental health care and cutting-edge environmental practices. Previous trips to Florida, California, Minnesota and New York were extremely successful and widely attended.
