Energy, Policy and Politics: The Changing Energy Landscape in Latin America
Event Description

In recent years, Latin America has experienced dramatic changes in the economic, political and social forces that influence national and regional energy policy. This conference brings together policymakers, energy industry officials and analysts, and scholars to discuss the emerging trends and influences that are shaping Latin American energy policy. Through a wide range of topical panels and presentations from the region's experts, the conference will address competing paradigms for sustaining energy sector investment, the increased role of alternative energy, the changing role of national oil companies, and energy reform and privatization.

This event is co-sponsored by the Baker Institute's Latin American Initiative and the Energy Forum, as well as the Americas Society/Council of the Americas.
