Changing Minds, Winning Peace
Former ambassador Edward P. Djerejian discusses public diplomacy and the perception of the United States in the Arab and Muslim world. He identifies three prisms through which United States policy is perceived: the Arab-Israeli conflict, Iraq, and the autocratic governance common in the region. Ambassador Djerejian is currently director of the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University. In June 2003 he was appointed chairman of the U.S. Advisory Group on Public Diplomacy for the Arab and Muslim World which released its report, "Changing Minds, Winning Peace" in October of that year.
