Speaking June 24 at an Energy Forum event, Abdulla Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, second deputy premier and minister of energy and industry for Qatar, described his nation's strategy to diversify its economy through various gas-based projects while meeting future global gas consumption, which is projected to double over the next 25 years. Through tremendous efforts, the State of Qatar has gone from being a country with limited oil production and little gas production to being one of the largest energy producers and exporters in the world.
