"The Future of Science in America" explores the comparative science policies of President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney. With this hotly contested election coming up, this event is aimed at educating the Rice community on the current state of science in the United States. The presentation "Comparative Science Policies: President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney" will be given by Eric Manpearl, chair of school dialogues for Rice Empower, and will be followed by a panel of expert speakers who will discuss their opinions on science policy. The event will focus on the areas such as research and development funding, stem cell policy, energy policy, climate change, and space exploration policy.
