The event, which took place in Doha, Qatar, was organized jointly by the Qatar Foundation Research Division and the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy.

Eminent international and regional scientists, ethicists and policymakers discussed the latest discoveries and promises of stem cell research and the applications for the development of new therapeutic approaches for a variety of diseases.

Participants are also examined policy options that account for cultural, ethical and religious factors.
